Hi, you might know the ancient Kiukainen culture, covered quite a big area. Kiukainen itself is in Western Finland. Very central place for merchandise in the past. People living there stopped burning their dead family members appr. 500 years earlier than in other areas in the region. There are stone tombs etc. That's why Kiukainen / Eura is a "strawberry place" of archaelogists.

Now, does anyone know about any ancient DNA results from Kiukainen / Eura / Kokemäki area? If there are any might be in publications.

Hi, Marja!

I noticed, you also wear H35 mtDNA group like me. I wear H35a. I am from west Slovenia. Čepovan is area where my female ancestors with H35a lived. Do you know something more about this group? Is your result also in a base that mr. Ian Logan) created? In that base, there are 9 samples H35. Mr. Logan wrotte that H35 could be 20 000 years old and H35a 10 000 years old. Mutation 11253C is what makes subgroup H35a

As to when the haplogroup appeared:you might consider Haplogroup H starting at 30,000 years ago,H35 starting at 20,000 years ago,and H35a starting 10,000 years ago.

Where does your maternal line go back? Thank you, :)
